TEHRAN (Dispatches) – Iranian karate fighter Nasrin Dousti has claimed the gold medal in the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
Dousti beat Serap Ozcelik from Turkey in the final match of the Women’s Kumite -50kg at the Baku Sports Hall to win the gold medal.
Rozita Alipour took a silver medal in the Women's Kumite -61kg after being defeated by Farida Abiyeva from Azerbaijan.
In Women's Kumite -55kg, Taravat Khaksar seized a bronze medal.
Mehdizadeh won a bronze medal in the Men's Kumite -60kg, beating his Saudi Arabian rival.
Iranian Judoka Alireza Khojasteh won a bronze medal in the Men's -66kg. Nijat Shikhalizada from Azerbaijan defeated Houd Zourdani from Algeria in the final match.
Iran Men’s 4x100 m Freestyle team consisting Mehdi Ansari, Benyamin Ghareh Hassanloo, Jamal Chavoshifar and Sina Gholampour claimed a bronze medal. Gold medal went to Turkey swimming team and Indonesia took the silver.
Earlier on the day, Iranian shooters Narjes Andevari Emamgholinejad and Elaheh Ahmadi took the gold and silver medals in the Women's 10m Air Rifle.

Mixed Team 10m Air Rifle Bags Silver
And also, Iran’s mixed team 10m air rifle claimed a silver medal at the event.
The Iranian team consisting of Pouria Norouzian and Najmeh Khedmati lost to Bangladesh 5-1 in the event’s final match and claimed a silver medal.
Bronze medal went to Turkish team who defeated Iran’s Hossein Bagheri and Narjes Emamgholinejad.

Artistic Gymnastics Wins Bronze
 Iran won a bronze medal at the artistic gymnastics at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games on Sunday.
Saeedreza Keikha, Saman Madani and Hadi Khanarinejad represented the Iranian team and claimed a bronze medal with 152.150 points.
Gold medal went to Turkey with 163.450 points and host Azerbaijan seized the silver with 161.700 points.  
More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games which run through May 22.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
