Unemployment at Worst
KAYHAN: Officials are of the opinion that unemployment is at its worst stage in the country. Despite three years since the new government came to power, they still blame the previous government for the sorry state of affairs in the market. The government managed to create new jobs but it is nothing compared to what the previous government did as regards unemployment. There is a need for short-term policies and plans, else people will show no interest in long-term job-creating projects.
All Egg in One Basket
TASNIM: People are not satisfied with what they see and hear as economic growth. President Rouhani put all his eggs in one basket. Some individuals and politicians are in love with their seats. They feel like they have been glued to their seats. They are not willing to let go of their positions unless death comes and knocks on the door. Some politicians were retired more than ten years ago but are still unwilling to leave the world of politics.
Dire Consequences
AFKAR NEWS: Before the elections,President Rouhani had no idea what the real situation was in the economy. He had no idea how vast the problems were and should have never given so many promises. His government have done a good job in curbing inflation rate and keeping it below 10 percent. The problem is, this has had serious consequences, leading to high unemployment rate, recession and low purchasing power.
Housing Boom?
SIASAT ROOZ: Housing loans stay below the 10-percent interest. But the response from the market has been recession, keeping an eye on the future. Officials have come to believe that in the second quarter boom will return to the housing market. This is wishful thinking. Reports suggest there are no activities in the market, with little or no buy and sell deals at all.
