Lavan Oil Refinery to Improve Gasoline Quality
TEHRAN (FNA) - The Iranian oil ministry announced that Lavan Oil Refining Company plans to upgrade the quality of its gasoline and other products.
"Lavan Refinery is to boost the quality of its products to euro-4 standards by March 2015," the ministry said.
It said that the facility’s refining capacity will be also increased by 20,000 b/d. The refinery has been treating 35,000 b/d of crude oil and 13,000 b/d of gas condensate since 2012.
The refinery is under development to produce 1.9 ml/d of gasoline, 300,000 l/d of gas oil, 200,000 liters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and one million liters of jet fuel.
The refinery is expected to finally produce 2.8 to 3 million liters a day of gasoline, 3.9 to 4 ml/d of gas oil, 1 ml/d of jet fuel and 25 to 30 tons of granulated sulfur.
Lavan Oil Refinery was built in 1976 with processing capacity of 20 thousand barrels per day and was developed during the 1990s.The refinery, at present, takes 60 thousand barrels of oil per day and produces 2.1 million liters of euro-2 and euro-4 gasoline.
