TEHRAN – Iran’s Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Ahmad Donyamali ordered the immediate follow-up of the condition of players and staff members of Sahar Academy basketball team after their bus overturned on the way back from Abadan to Tehran.
Under the directive, the heads of the Sports Medicine and Basketball federations, along with the director general of Sports and Youth Affairs in Khuzestan Province, have been instructed to monitor the injured and coordinate with medical centers to ensure they receive immediate treatment.
The bus overturned after the team’s match against Palayesh Naft Abadan. Following the accident, a number of players and staff members were hospitalized in Shoosh, while others have been admitted to Golestan Hospital in Ahvaz, the capital of the southwestern province.
According to the latest information, several team members are in stable condition and awaiting discharge, while the remaining injured are receiving medical care.
