Vafaei swept past Stuart Carrington with a 6-0 victory on Saturday in the first round of the 2026 International Snooker Championship. The Iranian scored brilliantly, producing two centuries and breaks of 69 or more in every frame, culminating in a 114 break to seal the win. 
With this victory, Vafaei has advanced to the main stage of the 2026 International Snooker Championship. He will begin this phase of the tournament—which is set to be hosted by Nanjing, China—by facing Mark Selby, a renowned, highly-ranked snooker player from England.
