Official: Sarajeh Gas Storage Record Set Ahead of Schedule

TEHRAN – Sarajeh gas storage facility has set a new record after completing gas injection ahead of schedule, with performance about 3% above target and stored volumes increasing by more than 50 million cubic meters from last year, the head of the National Iranian Gas Company said.
Saeid Tavakoli said the early completion of gas injection at the facility established a new record for stored gas available to support demand during the cold months, according to the National Iranian Gas Co.
He said increased storage at Sarajeh, alongside other measures across the gas production and distribution chain, would help maintain reliable supplies during peak winter consumption.
Tavakoli praised employees at the Sarajeh storage facility and Iran Gas Transmission Co., saying the achievement reflected sustained staff efforts and coordination among gas industry operations teams to strengthen preparedness ahead of winter.
He stressed that higher storage levels must be accompanied by efficient consumption. Public cooperation in following consumption guidelines, adjusting heating equipment temperatures and preventing energy waste plays an important role in maintaining network stability and meeting the needs of different sectors, he said.
Efforts by gas industry workers across the supply chain, from production to transmission and distribution, combined with responsible consumption by customers, will help the country navigate the coldest days of the year more reliably, Tavakoli said.
