Russia Denies Evacuating Diplomats, Bushehr Specialists From Iran
TEHRAN -- Russia’s embassy in Tehran on Saturday denied reports that its diplomats and specialists at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant were being evacuated, calling the claims “disinformation” from sources it said were well known.

“We state that neither embassy staff nor Russian specialists at the Bushehr nuclear plant are leaving Iran. Activities continue as normal. Claims to the contrary are false information whose origin is well known.”
The denial came a day after Russian state news agency Vesti reported similar remarks, with the embassy urging audiences to unsubscribe from channels disseminating inaccurate information.
The reports surfaced against the backdrop of intensified Russian-Iranian coordination. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited Tehran on October 19, meeting President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in his first trip to Iran since the U.S.-Israeli military terrorism against the Islamic Republic began in late February.
Araghchi said after the talks that cooperation between the two countries had never been closer, with discussions covering economic and nuclear cooperation as well as regional developments in Lebanon, Palestine, Ukraine and Yemen.
Lavrov stated during the visit that Russia had no intention of revising its investment agreements with Iran, and that the deployment of Russian technical teams at Bushehr was proceeding.
