TEHARN - Iran’s doubles table tennis team has secured a qualification spot for the World Championships.
The Asian Senior Doubles Table Tennis Championships continued with matches determining rankings 9 through 16 and qualification spots for the World Championships. The Iranian duo of Benyamin Faraji and Arian Ghaffari defeated Saudi Arabia 3–2, thereby earning a spot in the 2027 World Championships.
In the Round of 16, the Iranian pair faced the Philippines; they were defeated, missing out on a place among the tournament’s top eight teams.
Iran’s other doubles team, consisting of the Alamian brothers, withdrew from their match against the Chinese Taipei pair due to an illness suffered by Noshad Alamian, and were thus eliminated from the competition.
