Israeli Forces Kill Nine Gazans, Storm Balata Camp, Strike Lebanon and Syria

GAZA/BEIRUT (Dispatches) --
Israeli forces on Wednesday killed at least nine Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, stormed a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, renewed airstrikes and artillery shelling on southern Lebanon, and targeted agricultural land in southern Syria.
In Gaza, medical sources reported a citizen killed in an Israeli drone strike on Al-Mawasi in the town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis in the southern Strip, while a child died of wounds sustained in an earlier strike near the Sarouk junction on Al-Jalaa Street in northern Gaza City.
Earlier reports from Xinhua documented seven Palestinians killed on Tuesday, including a 15-year-old boy shot by Israeli forces south of Khan Younis, a man and his wife killed in an airstrike on an apartment near Al-Shifa Hospital, and others killed in artillery and aerial strikes in Al-Zawaida, Jabalia, and the Zeitoun neighborhood.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that 1,522 Palestinians have been killed and 5,421 injured since a ceasefire was declared in October 2025, raising the total death toll since October 7, 2023 to 74,480, with 175,539 wounded.
Hamas condemned the continued strikes as a “flagrant and repeated violation” of the ceasefire agreement.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces stormed the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus in the northern West Bank on Wednesday morning, entering with several military vehicles via the Awarta checkpoint, deploying in the Al-Hashashin neighborhood, raiding commercial shops, and firing tear gas canisters.
At dawn, forces arrested two brothers, Iyad and Muhammad Adel Riyahi, after searching and ransacking their home.
Across the West Bank, Israeli forces arrested approximately 36 to 37 Palestinians, including former prisoners, in Nablus, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Jenin, and Hebron (Al-Khalil).
In Ramallah, forces prevented residents of Deir Jarir from accessing their olive groves in the Al-Harayiq area, claiming it was a “closed military zone,” and issued a demolition notice for a home in Umm Safa village that has stood since 1954.
In Bethlehem, forces raided two schools in Tuqu’ during first period, causing panic among students and staff, and threatened punitive measures.
In southern Lebanon, Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike at approximately 6:20 a.m. on the Al-Hamra farm on the outskirts of Zoutar in the Nabatieh District, while 240mm artillery shells struck the area around the Baathail pool near Kfar Chouba and the vicinity of Khiam.
Overnight, Israeli artillery subjected the outskirts of Kfar Tibnit, Mifdoun, and Wadi Zibqin to intense bombardment, and hostile drones flew over the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Israel’s terrorist war minister Israel Katz said Tuesday that Israeli forces had destroyed more than 60 villages and 23,000 homes in southern Lebanon and occupied about 700 square kilometers of territory since a renewed aggression in March, forcing some 200,000 Shiite residents from the area.
In southern Syria, Israeli occupation forces fired two artillery shells that landed on agricultural land around eastern Tal al-Ahmar in the southern Quneitra countryside on Wednesday, causing no injuries, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency.
The shelling is part of continued Israeli violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, including repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, detentions, and attacks.
