TEHRAN - Iran’s women’s wheelchair basketball team has defeated Cambodia, claiming its first victory at the 5th Asian Para Games.
This match against Cambodia marked the third game for the Iranian women’s team at the tournament, concluding in a victory for our country’s athletes. Iran had previously suffered defeats against Japan and Thailand.
The Iranian squad ended the first half of the match leading 24–23.
In the second half, the Iranian women delivered an outstanding performance, ultimately securing a 52–39 win over Cambodia. China and Laos are the other opponents Iran faces in this tournament.
The women’s wheelchair basketball competition at the 5th Asian Para Games is being held in a round-robin format, featuring teams from Iran, Japan, Thailand, China, Laos, and Cambodia.
