Lebanon, Syria Under Israeli Fire: Strikes Hit Mansouri, Dara’a, Kfar Shuba, Quneitra

BEIRUT/DAMASCUS (Dispatches) -- Israeli forces conducted airstrikes, artillery shelling, and ground incursions in southern Lebanon on Friday while uprooting olive trees, as simultaneous military incursions continued across southern Syria.
In Lebanon, Israeli warplanes struck the town of Mansouri in the Tyre district, while artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, the Sarbine and Zibqin valleys, and the Jarmaq area near Jezzine.
A D9 bulldozer accompanied by two tanks and several military vehicles advanced toward the southern outskirts of Kfar Shuba, where Israeli forces uprooted olive trees in the Azariel area.
The Israeli military also carried out two large simultaneous kidnappings in Kfar Tibnit, near a school, and Zawtar al-Sharqiya, with explosions so powerful that houses shook in the Nabatieh region.
A surface-to-surface missile launched from inside Israeli occupied territories targeted Nabatieh Fawqa overnight. Israeli drone activity included a sound bomb dropped on the outskirts of Khiam and a missile fired at a building in Mifdoun that failed to explode, prompting evacuation before a second missile struck.
In southern Syria, approximately ten Israeli military vehicles advanced near the Abdeen Dam in Dara’a on Thursday, with warplanes flying overhead as forces opened fire indiscriminately toward farmland and searched homes in eastern Abdeen village.
Israeli forces also set fire to a house and a fodder warehouse in rural Dara’a. A separate force of five vehicles entered the same area through the Tel Abu Ghaithar gate, raiding a home, kidnapping young men for about an hour, and seizing a motorcycle. In Quneitra countryside, five Israeli vehicles moved into the area west of Saida al-Hanout village.
Meanwhile, internal violence continued unabated in areas under the rule of Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, a former Al-Qaeda and Daesh commander.
On Thursday, four security personnel affiliated with Jolani’s administration were killed in an armed attack targeting two patrols in the eastern Hama countryside, including one near the Salmiya-Athriya road where gunmen on motorcycles opened fire.
The attacks occurred against a backdrop of systematic sectarian targeting under Jolani’s rule. Since his regime took power in December 2024, religious minorities—Alawites, Christians, and Druze—have faced repeated massacres, including the killing of over 1,600 Alawite civilians in March 2025 and attacks on Druze communities in Suwayda in July 2025.
