Eslami: West’s Opposition Cannot Erase Iran’s Nuclear Achievements

Atomic Energy Organization chief Muhammad Eslami declares that Iran stands on par with developed nations in nuclear technology, stressing that sanctions, restrictions and opposition cannot erase the country’s scientific achievements or deprive the Iranian people of their technological rights.

TEHRAN -- Iran’s vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization said Tuesday that opposition to Iran’s possession of nuclear technology does not change the reality of the country’s scientific capability, stating that Iran stands on par with developed nations in nuclear science and technology.

Muhammad Eslami, vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, made the remarks at a ceremony marking National Standards Day.

Citing the country’s scientific, intellectual, and managerial capacities and the creativity of Iranian youth, Eslami said the Iranian nation deserves to attain the foremost position in science and technology.

He said that throughout history, science and technology have risen from this land, and the thinking power, creativity, and managerial capacity of Iranians constitute an infinite capacity.

Emphasizing Iran’s standing in nuclear science and technology, Eslami said: “We are on par with developed countries in nuclear sciences and technologies, and this is a reality. Opposition to and non-acceptance of Iran’s possession of nuclear technology does not change the reality of the country’s scientific capability. We have done nothing wrong, and if they do not raise the issue of a nuclear bomb, they will have nothing else to say.”

Eslami pointed to the role of management in bringing about the flourishing of the country’s talents and capacities, saying the duty of management is to provide the ground, facilitate, support, guide, and back talents and processes so that existing capacities flourish and their results are placed at the service of the Iranian nation.

Referring to attacks on the country’s industrial infrastructure, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization said nuclear technology is present in all relevant industrial categories.

During the attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime, various industrial sectors of the country were targeted, including sensitive points of refineries, petrochemical complexes, steel industries, and other industries.

He said those sectors that oversee the control of industrial processes and use precision instruments based on nuclear technology were targeted, with the aim of disrupting industrial processes in terms of selection and stability.

“In conditions where these equipment and products are not made available to Iran and even their repair and support services are not provided, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has been able to indigenize and produce this equipment in accordance with current world standards and place it at the disposal of the country’s industries.”

Eslami stressed that nuclear technology belongs to the Iranian people, saying: “Nuclear technology and its achievements belong to the Iranian people. This technology is the technology of life, authority, and progress, and the country’s valiant youth are taking steps toward its development through their scientific efforts.”

The vice president pointed to the role of young people in realizing the country’s scientific and technological achievements, saying the average age of colleagues who have attained these achievements in various scientific and technological fields is about 35 years.

This, he said, indicates the utilization of the country’s youth capacity and the provision of a valuable opportunity for their participation in Iran’s scientific and technological progress.

He stressed the need to continue the path of technology development, saying scientific and technological achievements must be continuously updated by relying on appropriate structures and mechanisms so that the ground is prepared for sustained progress and the enhancement of the country’s capabilities.

In another part of his remarks, Eslami described standards and quality as fundamental pillars of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran’s activities.

“Without observing standards, achieving the desired position is not possible. Standards must be comprehensive and all-encompassing and not limited to goods and services; rather, they must also include processes, performance, and how to properly utilize capacities.”

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran was recognized as the top executive body in the field of standardization during the evaluation of executive bodies’ performance in the 1404–1405 period, due to its effective participation in the country’s standardization activities.

Farzaneh Ansari, head of the National Standards Organization of Iran, issued a message of appreciation thanking Eslami for his role in advancing the country’s standards.
