Iran Mourns Martyred Female Police Officer, Captures Three Terrorists

TEHRAN -- The body of a senior
female Iranian police officer martyred by a roadside bomb in southeastern Iran was carried through the streets of Zahedan on Sunday, as security forces announced fresh arrests targeting the terrorist group behind her assassination.
Dr. Nosrat Eftekhari, deputy social commander of Sistan and Baluchestan province’s police force, was martyred when a remote-controlled explosive device planted by Jaish al-Adl terrorist detonated during a mission to the Cheshmeh Ziarat area.
She had traveled to the underdeveloped region to prepare for the “Shahid Fazilati” social services program, which was intended to bring police outreach to residents seeking to file grievances.
Mourners gathered in Razaviyeh and accompanied the coffin to the Martyrs’ Cemetery, where she was buried. The crowd included family members, officials and ordinary citizens who came to pay respects to an officer whose final mission was one of service to marginalized communities.
“Her martyrdom once again turned the consequences of terrorist actions toward those who work to provide security and services to society,” Tasnim reported, noting that the bombing targeted a force deployed specifically to address civilian needs.
On Sunday, Iranian security forces announced the capture of three members of Jaish al-Adl in the southeastern port city of Chabahar and a village in Dashtyari County.
Authorities discovered a safe house in the Othmanabad area of Chabahar, seizing an M4 rifle, two Kalashnikov rifles and large quantities of M16 ammunition. The cell had been tasked with attacking security checkpoints in Bahu Kalat and Shir Govaz.
The captures followed a series of counter-terrorism operations in the province. On October 6, Iran’s General Intelligence Administration announced the dismantling of three operational terrorist cells across Iranshahr, Sarbaz, Saravan and Zahedan, with large quantities of weapons and ammunition seized.
Sunday’s developments came amid intensified pressure on Jaish al-Adl. The terrorist group has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Iranian soil in recent years.
The group is linked to foreign intelligence services, operating as a proxy of the CIA and Mossad aimed at destabilizing the Islamic Republic.
In June, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett acknowledged that Israel had covertly smuggled “tens of thousands” of Starlink satellite internet terminals into Iran to help anti-government elements communicate.
President Donald Trump told Fox News in April that Washington had supplied guns to anti-government rioters, stating, “We sent guns, a lot of them”.
