Israeli Forces Kill Eight in Gaza and West Bank, Settlers Attack Olive Farmers

GAZA/RAMALLAH (Dispatches) -- Israeli forces killed at least eight Palestinians across Gaza and the occupied West Bank over the weekend, as settlers backed by the military launched a fresh wave of violent attacks on olive farmers in what rights groups described as a systematic campaign of dispossession and bloodletting.
Hospital sources said the bodies of eight martyrs were brought to Gaza hospitals since Saturday morning, with six killed in Gaza City and one dying from injuries sustained in an earlier bombing in Al-Mawasi, south of Khan Younis.
Shahd Abdul-Razzaq al-Najjar, an 8-year-old girl, was killed by an Israeli quadcopter drone in the al-Jawazat area of western Gaza City. Four Palestinians were killed near the Haider Abdel Shafi roundabout, according to al-Shifa Hospital.
One Palestinian was killed in a drone attack in the Tuffah neighborhood. One woman died from injuries sustained in an earlier Israeli attack in southern Gaza. Wajdi al-Sous was killed when his motorcycle was struck by three missiles on Salah al-Din Street near Nuseirat camp.
Separately, Jihad al-Ghandour, a 7-year-old child, died Sunday evening from wounds sustained Saturday by Israeli gunfire near Al-Hawaja Street in Jabaliya camp.
The cumulative death toll since October 2023 now stands at 74,377 martyrs and 175,398 injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, Israeli fire has killed 1,481 Palestinians and wounded 5,254.
Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, said Israel has committed approximately 5,000 violations of the sham ceasefire agreement, resulting in the deaths of about 1,500 Palestinians — including over 300 children.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers — protected and often joined by Israeli forces — escalated their assault on Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest.
South of Bethlehem, settlers attacked four elderly Palestinian farmers while they harvested olives, beating them severely and detaining them for hours.
The victims included Ziad Younis Subh (60), Taher Ahmed Najajreh (64), Ibrahim Yaqoub Issa (63), and Ibrahim Muhammad Issa (64). Ibrahim Issa was beaten so brutally he remains in a coma in intensive care.
In the Nablus governorate, Israeli occupation forces stormed agricultural fields in Yatma while families harvested olives, firing heavy volleys of tear gas that injured five women, including an elderly woman. Soldiers then compelled the women to leave their lands at gunpoint, citing the fields’ location in “Area C”.
In Ein Yabrud, east of Ramallah, settlers seized a vehicle belonging to the village council, stealing bags of olives and agricultural equipment inside, while Israeli forces fired tear gas at residents who confronted them.
Shadi Ahmad Ibrahim Ajarmeh, 32, was shot dead by Israeli forces Saturday near the Nabi Yunis junction north of Hebron (Al-Khalil). His body was withheld by Israeli forces.
The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 18 settler attacks across nine West Bank governorates in a single day. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that at least 79 Palestinians, including 19 children, have been killed in the West Bank since the start of 2026, with 1,870 injured.
Photojournalist Issam Rimawi was shot in the right calf with a rubber bullet while covering the olive harvest near Ramallah — despite wearing a press vest and helmet.
