TEHRAN - The United States has issued a visa to the last remaining coach of Iran’s national freestyle wrestling team whose visa had not yet been granted.
Following continued efforts and consultations by Iran’s Wrestling Federation, a visa was issued for one of the national freestyle team’s coaches whose application had previously not been approved.
The coach will now travel to the United States with the rest of the national freestyle team to compete in the U-23 World Wrestling Championships.
Iran’s Wrestling Federation President Alireza Dabir had earlier warned that Iran would not send its team to the championships if the U.S., as host, refused a visa to even one member of the Iranian delegation.
