Art, Innovation, Modernity: Iran Exhibition Opens in Paris
PARIS -- A photography
exhibition presenting contemporary Iran through architecture, women’s achievements, and scientific and technological advances is on display at the Cultural Counsellorship of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Paris.
Titled Iran Today: Art, Culture and Innovation, the weeklong exhibition brings together images organized around three themes: innovation in architecture, bridges and transportation; the role of women in the arts, sports, and research; and recent developments in science, technology, and industry.
The exhibition is the second in a series of four weekly cultural programs scheduled by the Iranian Cultural Counsellorship for October. It follows a program devoted to ancient Iran, history, and civilization, while two further exhibitions are planned, focusing on “Lost Dreams” and the works of Mahmoud Farshchian.
Organizers say the series is intended to introduce French audiences and other visitors to different dimensions of Iran’s culture, art, history, and civilization, while creating opportunities for cultural dialogue and greater mutual understanding.
