Gachsaran Oil Company Boosts Mansourabad Field

TEHRAN – The managing director of the Gachsaran Oil and Gas Production Company said oil and gas output continued without interruption during the third imposed war, and that operational projects added 15,000 barrels per day to the Mansourabad field’s capacity.
Ali-Akbar Hafezinia said production did not fall despite the difficult conditions. “There was no break in production,” he said, crediting round-the-clock work by employees in the production and transmission departments for meeting planned targets.
He said the company has documented its wartime measures on passive defense, resilience and sustaining production, and that more details will be released when conditions allow.
Hafezinia said the company built 30 kilometers of 6- and 8-inch pipeline in less than four months. The project, intended to create a gas ring, stabilize Gachsaran’s output and allow Mansourabad production to rise, had been scheduled to take six months. It is expected to enter service soon.
Citing Oil Ministry policies to capture associated gas and reduce flaring, Hafezinia said four contracts for the company have been finalized and contractors selected. The projects cover Bibi Hakimeh, Golkhari, Rag-e Sefid and Gachsaran, and work has begun.
In Gachsaran, collection of about 20 million cubic feet of gas began in the Iranian month of Dey (December-January), he said. Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. is carrying out that part through its subsidiaries.
He said the National Iranian Oil Co. and the National Iranian South Oil Co. want each company to complete its share of gas recovery so the country avoids supply problems in fall and winter.
Hafezinia said a joint task force has been formed to manage oil transfers from Goureh to storage tanks. He said it is the first such group in recent years and includes the National Iranian South Oil Co., the Export Supervision Directorate, the production department and Gachsaran Oil and Gas. It will oversee transfers to Petropars Asia tanks and delivery to the relevant company.
The company has strategic storage with a capacity of about 4 million barrels, and preventive and corrective work is under way to fix some defects, he said.
Describing social responsibility work in four provinces, Hafezinia said the company now views local communities not merely as stakeholders but as “hosts” of the oil industry.
He said residents near pipelines and facilities often alert employees to leaks or suspicious activity, helping protect infrastructure and keep production running. Building constructive relations with them is part of efforts to improve production resilience, he said.
Projects in Khuzestan, Bushehr and Fars provinces include repairing and repaving roads shared by the oil industry and residents, expanding schools, distributing aid packages and running educational programs.
Gachsaran Oil and Gas Production Co. is a subsidiary of the National Iranian South Oil Co. Its operations span Fars, Bushehr, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, and Khuzestan provinces. Besides producing oil, gas and liquefied gas, it is responsible for transporting oil produced in the southern oil fields.
