NPC Announces Task Force to Speed Plant Rebuilding

Petrochemical Company (NPC) will form a joint task force to draft a special support package aimed at speeding the reconstruction of war-damaged petrochemical units and returning them to production, with backing from the Oil Ministry, the company’s CEO said.
Omid Shakeri spoke about the purpose of his visit to damaged complexes in the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone. He said the trip was intended to examine challenges in the rebuilding process and help return facilities damaged in the third imposed war to production faster.
Shakeri said rebuilding the damaged units is a national necessity. He said the Oil Ministry is giving the issue special attention and that the oil minister has directed that any obstacles to reconstruction of damaged industrial units be removed.
The CEO said the ministry stands with petrochemical companies in efforts to restore the units to their prewar condition. He said proposals from the heads of petrochemical companies in the Mahshahr zone, aimed at boosting the industry, were reviewed at a meeting held during the visit.
Shakeri said participants agreed to form a joint task force to examine existing problems and develop solutions to support the industry. He said the group’s goal is to draft the special support package and create conditions for industrial activity to recover in the zone.
During the two-day trip on Sept. 29 and 30, Shakeri toured the Bandar Imam, Karoun, Amirkabir, Razi and Fajr Energy Khalij Fars petrochemical companies and was briefed on the latest steps taken at the complexes. The program also included visits to the Mahshahr Research and Technology Center and the Petrochemical Terminals and Tanks Company, along with special meetings with the heads of petrochemical firms in the region.
