Iraq Declares Full Sovereignty as U.S. Troops Leave
BAGHDAD (Dispatches) -- Iraq marked a historic milestone on Saturday as Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi formally declared the completion of the U.S. military occupation and the restoration of full Iraqi sovereignty.
The announcement, made during a ceremony in Baghdad attended by Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and senior officials, confirmed that occupation forces had fully withdrawn from Iraqi territory by land, air, and sea.
