TEHRAN - Iran’s speed climber Reza Alipour has secured a spot in the Round of 16 at the Asian Games speed climbing competition.
The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games speed climbing events continued on Wednesday  at the Port Messe venue, where Alipour in the men’s speed event—faced his competitors.
Featuring 19 climbers competing on a four-lane wall across 19 heats, Alipour recorded times across four climbs on different routes. He ultimately clocked a time of 5.07 seconds, placing tenth in the qualifiers and securing a spot among the top 16 athletes advancing to the knockout stage.
Under the competition rules, the best time recorded across the athletes’ attempts determined the preliminary rankings, with the top 16 climbers moving on to the knockout phase.
Reza Alipour will continue his campaign on Thursday in the Round of 16.
