TEHRAN – Hanieh Rostamian produced the standout performance for Iran in the women’s 25m pistol, finishing first among 44 shooters with 587 points to qualify for the final at the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games.
She delivered a strong performance across the precision and rapid-fire stages, securing first place overall and leading Iran into the final.
Shooters from China, Vietnam, North Korea, Chinese Taipei, South Korea and India also booked their places in the eight-shooter final.
Meanwhile, Samia Yasi finished 39th with 563 points, while Zeinab Toumari placed 43rd with 554 points.
Iran, represented by Rostamian, Yasi and Toumari, accumulated 1,704 points to finish eighth among 12 teams.
The 25m women’s pistol final was scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Tehran time.
Elsewhere, Iran’s Marzieh Parvarsh-Nia scored 23 points in each of the third and fourth rounds of the women’s trap qualification.
She had previously recorded 19 and 21 points in the opening two rounds, taking her four-round total to 86 points.
The women’s individual trap competition will conclude tomorrow with the fifth qualification round and the final.
In the men’s trap, Mohammad Beiranvand posted 20 points in the third round and 25 in the fourth to take his four-round total to 91 points.
Beiranvand had scored 22 and 24 points in the opening two rounds.
