GENEVA -- Iran’s permanent mission in Geneva has submitted a legal document to several UN human rights mechanisms detailing the humanitarian and human rights consequences of U.S. economic and financial measures, describing them as “economic terrorism”.
The text examines U.S. banking restrictions, secondary sanctions, aviation and maritime limits, and naval blockade measures, and highlights the phenomenon of “over-compliance” by banks and companies.
