Report: Iraqi PM Ordered Suspension of Iranian Flights to Najaf
BAGHDAD -- The suspension of Iranian flights to Najaf airport was ordered directly by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, Tasnim news agency reported Friday, citing an Iraqi source.
The source said Zaidi instructed his office to communicate the ban, but since airport flights fall under the Civil Aviation Authority and Transport Ministry, he issued the order to the ministry, which then notified Najaf airport.
