Parliament Panel Approves Penalties for Hormuz Transit Violations
TEHRAN -- Iran’s Parliament National Security Commission on Tuesday approved Articles 13–15 of the “Strategic Action to Ensure Security and Development of the Strait of Hormuz” bill, formalizing transit rules under Iranian sovereignty.
Spokesman Hassan Ghashghavi said violators now face confiscation of 20 percent of cargo or equivalent value, alongside penalties under Article 5 of the Islamic Penal Code.
