Knowledge With Piety Ensures Real Progress

Islam places high emphasis on knowledge. The Almighty Creator in His very first revelation to Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) as formal entrustment of the universal mission of Islam begins with the word “Read”.
In the same Surah (96) stressing “Read” for the second time (Ayah 3) He focuses on the “Pen” – as the main instrument of teaching, learning, and acquiring knowledge.
Knowledge, however, if not accompanied by faith, piety, and service to humanity, becomes a tool of destruction of humanitarian values, as the devils in human form who master science and technology do, by oppressing fellow humans, reducing them to bondage, imposing wars upon them, and destroying entire societies.
Thus, in order to prevent the misuse of knowledge the All-Wise Creator in Surah 56, Ayah 11 says He raises in ranks the true believers possessing knowledge.
As opposed to the enemies of humanity and the trail of death and destruction they wrought by misusing scientific and political power, the believers have always viewed knowledge as a “Divine Gift” for defence against Satanism, for progress of civilization, for the welfare of the people, and for firmly treading the path that leads to Paradise.
This was the gist of the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, to students on the start of the academic year yesterday, in order to ensure the development of Iran, the flowering of civilization, and the firming of faith for success over the devilish plots of their enemies.
He encouraged school and university students to pursue knowledge, skills and ethics, describing education as a defense tool against the ongoing aggression of the US-Israeli devilish duo.
In His message, the Leader said knowledge combined with faith and ethics could act as an “iron shield” capable of countering the aggression of the United States and the illegal Zionist entity.
His message reads: “Now, in an era when the brutality of the system of domination—particularly the criminal US regime and the spurious Zionist entity—is rampant, power rooted in knowledge and coupled with piety and morality serves as an iron shield and a sharp sword that can cut off the aggressors’ hands from humanity.”
Indeed, a great difference between a pious and foresighted Leader of a civilized society striving for betterment of his country and the world, and uncivilized, uncouth, dastardly dotards worshipping at the devil’s altar to destroy humanity like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.
