TEHRAN - Iran’s wushu fighter Zahra Kiani missed out on a medal at the Asian Games.
In the second day of wushu competitions at the Asian Games, Zahra Kiani, a world Taolu gold medalist and two-time Asian Games silver medalist, competed against 15 Asian rivals in the Changquan event.
She received a score of 9.703 from the judges for her performance. The representative from Hong Kong took first place with a score of 9.713; the athlete from Macau finished second with 9.710; and the Indonesian competitor placed third with 9.706.
Consequently, in a shocking turn of events, Iran’s representative missed the podium by a margin of just three-thousandths of a point.
In the men’s 60kg division, Mehdi Kermani will face Abdulhamid of Uzbekistan, while Shoja Panahi is set to compete against Hazrat Avaz Gelidyo of Turkmenistan in the men’s 65kg category.
