TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign 
Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei on Saturday dismissed the latest accusations leveled by the White House spokesperson against Tehran, describing them as a “flight from reality” and an “act of projection.”
In a post on his X account, Baghaei responded to “a lengthy list of accusations” made by the White House against Iran.
“The White House spokesperson has issued a lengthy list of accusations against Iran. With striking precision, most of these charges describe the very actions the United States itself has initiated, perpetrated, or supported,” Baghaei wrote.
“This flight from reality and act of projection should come as no surprise,” the Iranian spokesperson added.
Baghaei concluded his remarks by citing a verse from the Book of Proverbs: “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing.”
His post came after White House spokesperson Anna Kelly rejected a UN report that found “reasonable grounds” to believe the United States committed war crimes in strikes on Iranian civilian sites.
Kelly told news outlets the Human Rights Council has “accomplished nothing for human rights while spouting unserious nonsense for decades.”
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said the United States cannot evade responsibility for war crimes by withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council.
