Isfahan to Host Iran’s Fajr Fashion and Clothing Festival
TEHRAN — Iran has opened the call for the 14th Fajr International Fashion and Clothing Festival, with “Discover Iran” returning as the central theme as the event moves to Isfahan for its next edition.
The theme, which was introduced for the previous edition, is being pursued as part of a three-year program intended to encourage designers to explore Iran’s cultural, historical, social, environmental and artistic diversity through fashion and clothing.
The festival, scheduled to be held in Isfahan in January 2027 — will be led by Mohsen Gorji, secretary of Iran’s Fashion and Clothing Organization Working Group.
Recent announcements have confirmed Isfahan as the host city as part of a broader policy to decentralize major cultural events and draw more heavily on the capacities of provinces outside Tehran.
Under the “Discover Iran” theme, designers are invited to develop works inspired by the country’s cultural and historical heritage, social life, climate, artistic traditions and visual aesthetics. The organizers intend the three-year approach to create continuity between successive editions and give designers greater scope to develop ideas into finished works and, ultimately, marketable products.
The 14th edition will feature several competitive categories, including clothing design, girls’ and boys’ school uniform design, textile design, conceptual ideas and clothing styles associated with hijab. A special Isfahan section will focus on works drawing on the province’s culture, architecture, handicrafts, clothing traditions and contemporary way of life.
