TEHRAN - The Iranian Armed Forces Kurash team has secured three silver medals, seven bronze medals, and a third-place team finish at the inaugural World Military Kurash Championships (CISM).
According to IRNA on Monday, the CISM World Military Kurash Championships were held in Uzbekistan, featuring participants from Asian and European nations; Iran was represented by eight athletes in the men’s division and five in the women’s division.
Amir-Muhammad Talebi (66kg), Ebrahim Barat-Zadeh (90kg), and Leila Siahvashi (52kg) won silver medals.
Zahra Bagheri, Maedeh Vafaei, Dorsa Nabat-Zadeh, Zahra Jafarian, Mehdi Amiri, Amir-Hossein Shahidi, and Meysam Nabaei secured the seven bronze medals for the Iranian national Kurash team.
Two “one-star” international referees—Esmaeil Zamani and Reza Abbas-Zadeh—were invited to officiate the tournament, with Esmaeil Zamani being honored as the event’s top referee.
