TEHRAN — Iran’s military
 capabilities will be revealed on the battlefield, the commanders-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army said here Saturday at a joint meeting to assess the latest situation on the battlefields.
Maj. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, the IRGC commander-in-chief, said Iran’s military capabilities have exceeded the enemy’s expectations and that the country’s armed forces have demonstrated their capabilities during recent wars.
“The military capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army are beyond the enemy’s imagination. In this war, they saw their mistaken assessments of the capabilities of our Army firsthand, and the military realities of Iran are revealed on the battlefield,” Vahidi said.
He also said the Israeli military would collapse in a very short time without U.S. support.
Vahidi said national unity and cohesion have been the greatest achievement of the recent military war and threats, adding that the armed and law enforcement forces have demonstrated unprecedented unity as well as intelligence and operational coordination that have been important factors in victory.
Praising the Army’s performance in the two recent imposed wars, Vahidi said the fighting spirit and patriotism of Army commanders and personnel have written “brilliant pages of manhood and sacrifice” in Iran’s history.
He said the Army has acted in a revolutionary manner through operational initiatives and described the Army and IRGC as “two major anti-American powers” that have “crushed the nose of the terrorist powers into the ground.”
Vahidi said the United States has “run into the strong barrier of the faith and honor of the Iranian people,” adding that “desperation and helplessness are evident in the behavior and decisions of the White House.”
He said U.S. President Donald Trump has resorted to lies and deception to manufacture achievements, adding U.S. intelligence and military agencies and Israel are misleading U.S. political officials about Iran’s military challenges and resilience.
He said U.S. political officials are now trying to deceive the American people to cover up their defeats.
Army Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Hatami, meanwhile, said the IRGC has for more than four decades been one of the main pillars of Iran’s national power, security and deterrence and is now standing on the front line of defending the country’s independence and security.
Hatami said the “unbreakable unity” between the Army and IRGC has protected Iran like an “iron shield” against the enemies’ plots, schemes and conspiracies.
“The unity and coordination existing between the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is a firm pillar of national security and the key to reaching the peaks of security and power,” Hatami said.
He said the IRGC, through cooperation and synergy with the Army and relying on its committed and self-sacrificing personnel, remains a strong barrier against any threat or aggression and that this has disappointed Iran’s enemies.
General Hatami said Iran’s enemies have clearly seen that even the slightest aggression against the country would face a “unified, swift, intelligent and powerful” response from Army and IRGC forces.
He said Iran has again demonstrated during the recent imposed wars and in resisting the demands of its enemies that it would not bargain over its national interests.
“The Iranian people and the armed forces that have risen from among the people will continue the path of the martyrs with power,” Hatami said.
He urged Iran’s enemies to change their view of the Iranian people, the Islamic Republic and the country’s leadership, saying they should understand that the Iranian people must be addressed “in the language of respect.”
