TEHRAN -- The Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abdol-Azim al-Hasani in Rey, south of Tehran, will host around 80 cultural, religious and social programs during celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Abd al-Azim al-Hasani, the shrine’s deputy for scientific and cultural affairs said Saturday.
Mohsen Arafati announced the program on Saturday at a briefing at the shrine, describing the site as an increasingly important cultural center in Tehran Province.  
Arafati said Abd al-Azim al-Hasani was a prominent religious scholar, jurist and transmitter of hadith whose influence has continued centuries after his death. He also highlighted his role in preserving religious traditions, including reports attributed to Imam Ali.
The shrine received more than 14.5 million visitors during the Iranian year 1404, which ended in March 2026, Arafati said. More than 500,000 people visited the shrine on Arbaeen, he added, representing a 30 percent increase from the previous year.
The shrine also maintains international religious and educational activities, according to Arafati, with visitors from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Europe and Africa. It holds regular contacts with religious centers inside and outside Iran and offers programs in Qur’anic education.
Its cultural and educational activities include religious lectures, Qur’an interpretation, discussions of the Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa al-Sajjadiya, and sessions addressing religious questions. The shrine also provides counseling, particularly for young
