TEHRAN - Iranian national team climber Reza Alipour has competed in the speed event at the “Guiyang 2026 World Climbing Series” in China, finishing the individual competition among the top eight athletes.
The World Climbing Series event underway in China from September 11 to 13, 2026, in the city of Guiyang, featuring 101 athletes from 24 countries. This event is part of the World Climbing Series calendar for the speed discipline.
After advancing through the qualifiers to the final stage—joining the top eight athletes—Alipour was defeated by his opponent in the quarterfinals, missing out on a spot in the semifinals.
At the conclusion of the men’s speed competition, Chinese athletes secured the first and second places, while the US representative took third place.
By participating in this event, Reza Alipour marked his 47th appearance in the World Climbing Series—a record that places him among the most experienced athletes in high-level speed climbing competitions.
The next stage of the World Climbing Series speed competition in China is scheduled for September 18–20 in Chongqing, with Reza Alipour included in the roster of participating athletes.
