TEHRAN - Iran’s Kasra Rahmani has secured a spot in the quarterfinals in the World Tennis Tour competition continues in Tunisia.
Rahmani defeated James Connell of Great Britain in straight sets—6-1, 6-4—to advance to the final eight of the tournament.
In the next round, Rahmani is set to face the winner of the match between the American and Algerian competitors. In the doubles event, the Iranian team—comprising Ali Yazdani and Kasra Rahmani—will face a team from Syria.
In the women’s division, Kimia Sagheb Tehrani and her Indian partner will compete against a team representing Turkey and Canada.
The Iranian tennis players are preparing for the Nagoya Asian Games; the squad heading to the tournament consists of Ali Yazdani, Kasra Rahmani, Meshkat-ol-Zahra Safi, and Mandegar Farzami.
