Commanders Outline Iran’s Gains in U.S.-Israeli War
TEHRAN — A senior Iranian military commander said on Monday that the enemy miscalculated Iran’s capabilities and did not anticipate its ability to alter the equations of war and expand the scope of confrontation to a regional level.
“The enemy did not anticipate that the Islamic Republic of Iran would be able to change the course of the war and expand the battlefield to a regional level,” Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Iran’s
Armed Forces Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari said.
He said Iran’s adversaries entered the confrontation based on extensive scenarios and calculations, while seeking to create unrest, insecurity and instability inside the country through hybrid warfare and affiliated elements.
He said that the enemy’s miscalculations were a major factor in the confrontation, saying Iran’s opponents repeatedly underestimated the capabilities, determination and potential of the Iranian people.
Heidari described the Strait of Hormuz as a key strategic issue with the potential to significantly influence regional and global equations, saying Iran’s use of its strategic capabilities has enabled it to have a significant impact on the world’s economic equations.
The senior commander stressed that Iran’s strength is rooted in unity among the armed forces and the nation. He said strengthening internal cohesion and coordination is essential, adding that solidarity between the Iranian people and their armed forces has helped thwart the enemy’s attempts to achieve its objectives.
Separately, the commander of Iran’s Army Air Defense Force, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, said domestically produced air defense systems have passed a “successful test” during the recent war and are now being rapidly mass-produced for deployment across the country.
“The equipment produced passed a successful test during that conflict, and now they are being rapidly mass-produced to be deployed across the entire expanse of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Elhami said.
Elhami said indigenous defense systems do not require upgrades from foreign suppliers, enabling the country to update its equipment in line with new threats, and that Iranian-made weapons are designed to suit the country’s geography and battlefield needs.
Commander of Iran’s Army Navy Rear Admiral Shahram Irani also said on Monday that the enemy is deeply concerned about Iranian armed forces’ operational initiatives, stressing that Iranian forces are capable of paralyzing the enemy’s movement anywhere if necessary.
“The element of surprise against the enemy in various missions has reached a level that has resulted in the operational capabilities of some enemy naval vessels being disrupted for a long period,” Irani said.
