TEHRAN — The Iran Cinema Museum will offer free admission to its museum halls on Saturday, September 12, marking Iran’s National Cinema Day with a program focused on the country’s cinematic heritage.
Visitors will be able to tour the museum’s halls free of charge and explore materials documenting different periods of Iranian cinema, including historical documents, cinema equipment and memorabilia associated with the country’s filmmakers.
The museum is also presenting restored versions of five notable Iranian films as part of its National Cinema Day program. The screenings are scheduled for September 8 through 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the museum’s Cinematograph Hall.
The program opens September 8 with Nasser Taghvai’s O Iran, followed on September 9 by Amir Naderi’s Tangsir. Ali Hatami’s Sattar Khan will screen September 10, followed by Dariush Mehrjui’s
 Hamoun on September 11. The program concludes September 12 with Varuzh Karim-Masihi’s The Last Act.
The restored versions have been prepared by Iran’s National Film Archive for screening during the National Cinema Day program, bringing works from different periods of Iranian filmmaking back to the screen.
National Cinema Day is observed in Iran on September 12, corresponding to 21 Shahrivar in the Solar Hijri calendar.
