FIVB Head Hails Iranian U-17 Volleyball Team’s World Title
TEHRAN - The President of the International Volleyball Federation Fabio Azevedo HAS congratulated the President of the Iranian Volleyball Federation, Milad Taghavi, on the Iranian U-17 team’s world championship in a message.
The Iranian U-17 boys’ volleyball team defeated France to achieve its seventh consecutive victory in Doha and become world champions.
The message from the FIVB President reads: “On behalf of the FIVB and the global volleyball movement, I would like to express my sincere congratulations to the Iranian boys’ volleyball team (under 17) on their victory at the 2026 World Championship in Qatar. Congratulations also go to Sina Hazrati who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and best opposite spiker.
Iran’s Monib Sheikh was selected as the best middle blocker, while Akam Ebrahimnezhad was named the best setter.

Iran captured the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-17 World Championship title after defeating France 3-1 in the final in Doha, Qatar, completing a seven-match winning run.
The 2026 championship was only the second staging of the FIVB Boys’ U17 World Championship. The inaugural edition was held in 2024, with Italy taking the title.
