Volleyball Team to Face India, Australia on Day 2 of Asian Championship
TEHRAN - Australia,
China and Thailand recorded victories on the second day of the 2026 Asian Volleyball Championship in Fukuoka, Japan.
The tournament, which also serves as the first stage of qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, began on Friday and will run for 10 days.
Australia defeated Bahrain 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-21), while China swept India 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 27-25).
Thailand also registered a straight-sets victory, beating Qatar 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-14).
The third day of the preliminary round will be held on Sunday.
Iran will face India at 4:30 a.m., followed by Qatar against Chinese Taipei at 8 a.m. and Japan against Bahrain at 2 p.m.
