Para-Archery Team Advances to World Championship Knockout Stage
TEHRAN - The Iranian para-archery national team has advanced to the knockout stage of the world championship in India.
The Para-Archery World Series hosted by India began on Saturday, and athletes competed in the recurve event.
In the preliminary round of the women’s individual competition, Somayeh Rahimi came in first place with 602 points, and Mohaddeseh Babahabib finished in sixteenth with 461 points, and in the men’s competition, Gholamreza Rahimi came in first place with 647 points, so that all three of our country’s national team members advanced to the knockout stage.
In the mixed competition, our country’s team, with the combination of Somayeh Rahimi and Gholamreza Rahimi, took first place and advanced to the knockout stage. With the end of the preliminary round, our country’s national team members will compete in the recurve event in the round of sixteen.
Hadi Nouri, Amir Muhammad Barani and Farzaneh Asgari, our national athletes in the compound event, will face their opponents on Sunfday.
The tournament is being held with the participation of 150 athletes from 19 countries.
