Ministry Launches 14-Kilometer Highway in Sistan and Baluchestan

TEHARN - The Deputy Governor for Civil Affairs, the director General of Roads and Urban Development on Friday inaugurated 14 kilometers of highway on the Zahedan-Khash region.
Speaking at the at the project inauguration ceremony, Mehdi Parsi said that by mobilizing all the executive, technical, and credit facilities and capacities, the process of developing the highway network of Sistan and Baluchestan has gained significant momentum in recent years, and the result has been the simultaneous implementation of numerous projects and the development of the highway network on various axes of the province.
He added, about 14 kilometers of the Zahedan-Khash axis were converted into a highway and opened to traffic. This measure was taken in order to improve safety, increase traffic capacity, and facilitate the movement of people and road users on one of the important communication axes of Sistan and Baluchestan.
He continued, the Zahedan-Khash axis is 172 kilometers long in total, and with the exploitation of new sections, 114 kilometers of this route have been converted into a highway, and the implementation operations to complete the remaining sections are being pursued with seriousness.
