TEHRAN– Ali Ghayour has been named the best right wing and one of the All-Star Team members at the 2026 Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship in Jordan.
Ali Ghayour, a member of Iran’s youth handball team, was selected as the top right wing and included among the championship’s best players on August 31, 2026.
Alireza Pakdel, Head of Iran’s Handball Federation and Vice President of the Asian Handball Confederation, attended the closing ceremony and presented the award for the tournament’s best player.
Despite the loss to South Korea, Iran secured its spot at the 2027 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship by advancing to the tournament’s final four.
The 11th edition of the Asian Youth Handball Championship took place in the Jordanian capital from August 22 to August 31, with Iran, South Korea, Bahrain, and Qatar earning Asia’s four qualifying berths for the 2027 World Championship.
