TEHRAN — Iranian security forces have dealt a devastating blow to the foreign-backed Jaish al-Adl terrorist group, neutralizing one militant and capturing six others in a series of surprise operations in the country’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Police spokesman General Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi announced that servicemen from the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in cooperation with IRGC Ground Force and Ministry of Intelligence personnel, successfully conducted the operations against terrorists in Saravan county on Friday.
A significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain militants, including dozens of Kalashnikov assault rifles, hand grenades, RPG-7 launchers, approximately 20 kilograms of C-4 military-grade high explosives, and 150 rounds of live ammunition. Several Starlink satellite internet terminals were also seized from members of the terrorist group.
The detained individuals were directly linked to previous fatal attacks against Iranian security forces and IRGC servicemen in the region.
The foreign-backed terror outfit, based in Pakistan, has been involved in numerous assaults targeting both civilians and security forces across the border province in recent years.
