Leader: Iran’s Power and Strength Must Be Highlighted
TEHRAN -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei on Friday stressed the need to explain and narrate the “power and strength of Iran” and highlight it.
In a message marking Government Week, Ayatollah Khamenei said that, under the current critical and complex circumstances facing the goal of achieving an “ever stronger Iran,” explaining and highlighting the country’s power and strength is one of the necessities for achieving that goal, alongside round-the-clock efforts and continuous innovation.
“Weakness and deficiency and shortcomings do not need narration and highlighting; rather, they need planning and action to remove and resolve the problem,” he said.
He warned that at times, honestly expressing Iran’s weaknesses when the enemy needs morale can be a great help to the enemy and may cause the hearts of friends and companions to become worried and leave them confused and bewildered.
“Yes, whenever the listeners of these honest statements are only our people and well-wishers, the problem is reduced. But strength and power and positive points, according to the Quranic teaching ‘And as for the favor of your Lord, proclaim it,’ need narration and highlighting,” he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian people, who during the past six months have revealed their true mettle through various manifestations of jihad against the enemy, presence in the arenas, unity, solidarity and cooperation, deserve and are entitled to feel the service of the branches of government and responsible institutions of the Islamic Republic in moving toward the desired level of the sacred system and the lofty status of the nation entrusted with a mission.
The Leader congratulated all active employees and managers of government
institutions, particularly the president of the 14th government, describing President Masoud Pezeshkian as sincere and caring.
He expressed appreciation for the commendable measures taken by the government despite the restrictions and various conspiracies of the American-Zionist enemy and the intensification of sanctions and blockades.
He particularly referred to measures taken during the third imposed war and afterward to provide the goods and various services needed by the people, repair important damaged areas and manage energy.
Ayatollah Khamenei also commemorated the memory of martyred presidents Muhammad Ali Rajai and Ebrahim Raisi, martyred Prime Minister Muhammad Javad Bahonar, and the martyred employees, managers and ministers of various governments, and prayed for their elevated ranks and divine grace.
He said the opportunity to serve the people and the objectives of the Islamic Republic is a valuable blessing that must be appreciated.
Turning to economic issues, Ayatollah Khamenei said serious attention must be paid to the chain of economic and livelihood challenges, including inflation, unemployment, management of prices and the market for goods and services.
He also called for special attention to economic growth, increasing investment and directing it toward useful and needed areas, boosting production, gradually removing the dollar from its important role, and ultimately placing the set of resistance economy policies at the center.
“The main key in this regard for solving all these matters is seen in relying ever more on domestic production,” he said.
He said ensuring a sufficient supply of general and specialized goods is itself an absolute necessity, adding that where domestic production is not sufficient, imports should be used “properly and wisely.”
He said encouraging production while managing imports and prices could lead to a situation in which the “dark spots” appearing on the country’s economic landscape gradually become smaller until they disappear completely.
Although the enemy’s conduct during and after the war is not without effect, Ayatollah Khamenei said smarter management of the components of this arena, seeking the help of the people in some cases and specialists and technologists in others, and bringing new capacities into operation can guide the country toward expansion and prosperity.
He said the sworn enemy of the Iranian nation seeks to create the impression that the path to prosperity and progress passes through following it and its unjustified demands, while what it has done to the country and its resources in previous periods, even years before the Islamic Revolution, shows the opposite.
Another important issue, he said, is employing technologies and innovations proposed by young elites.
“At times, timely use of this advantage and abandoning the usual course and established habits in a subject can create effective leaps on the path of the country’s progress and advancement,” he said.
He said this can be envisaged in all branches of power generation, including agriculture, industry, culture and education, communications and social affairs.
Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed unity and safeguarding social cohesion as another fundamental issue that must always remain at the center of attention of the government, government officials and all officials and components of the governing system.
“Every action in each of the major cultural, social, political, security and economic arenas must be carried out with consideration of the relevant social-cohesion component,” he said.
He said some measures that may apparently have supporters among certain groups in the country can cause harm to those groups and others if they lack such a component or if what has been prepared as a component in this regard is neglected in practice.
“There is no doubt that every discouraging statement that weakens national and public motivation and every kind of imaginary polarization such as war or negotiations, consensus or extremism, compromise or warmongering, which in the past has caused direct or indirect losses to our dear people, can have the same effect from now on,” he said.
“Therefore, I categorically declare that committing anything that is harmful to social cohesion is prohibited.”
The Leader also stressed the importance of paying “super-strategic” attention to culture, education and upbringing.
He explained that the expression “super-strategic” means that the formulation of other strategies should be carried out with consideration of this issue.
He said special attention should be paid to groups that are sources of spreading positive and constructive culture, including teachers in education, universities and seminaries, as well as nurses and physicians who have devoted themselves to performing their duties in non-private institutions.
He also stressed the importance of attention to the role of homemakers, who teach each child of the country “the most delicate components of the pattern and design of a beautiful and desirable future culture” within the homes.
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope that putting these points and the other useful matters included in the government’s programs into practice would guide the country toward an “ever stronger Iran” and make those active on this path worthy of the special attention of the Imam of the Age, may God Almighty hasten his reappearance, and his prayers for blessing and guidance.
