Hana Zarrinkamar Claims Silver at World Women’s Taekwondo Championships
TEHRAN - Iran’s taekwondo athlete Hana Zarinkamar has clinched a silver medal in the World Women’s Taekwondo Championships, Tai’an, China.
In the +73 kg weight category, Hana Zarrinkamar defeated “Zhang Suchan” from China with a score of 2-1 and then won against “Zhu Zeqi”, another representative of China, with a score of 2-0.
She also won against “Song Da-bin” from South Korea in the quarterfinals.
She also overpowered Mirtajuya from Uzbekistan with a score of 2-0 and went on to the final match.
The 16-year-old national champion of the women’s national taekwondo team faced Lauren Williams, the silver medalist of the Paris Olympics and a gold medalist and a silver medalist from the world championships from Great Britain, in the final match, and lost 2-0 to win the silver medal.
