BEIRUT (Dispatches) -- Israeli forces carried out a wave of airstrikes, artillery bombardments and demolitions across southern Lebanon on Wednesday, marking the latest violations of a disgraceful U.S.-mediated ceasefire framework signed in June.
Lebanese media reported that Israeli warplanes struck the town of Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district early Wednesday, while artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of Mansouri, Hadatha, and Baraachit. 
Explosions were also reported in the towns of Khiam and Markaba, as well as in the Nabatieh area near the Ali al-Taher and Dabsha heights.
Israeli forces set fire to homes in Beit al-Siyad overnight and carried out explosions in Bint Jbeil, where three separate blasts were heard. 
An Israeli Merkava tank fired several shells at Mansouri, while forces conducted sweeping operations in the area. Witnesses also reported Israeli military vehicles advancing near the town of Shebaa.
The attacks come despite a humiliating “framework agreement” signed in June between Lebanon’s government and Israel under U.S. auspices, which calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups. 
Critics, however, have pointed to the agreement’s vague legal status and the absence of a clear timeline for Israeli withdrawal, with the Zionist regime havening used as a pretext to intensify its atrocities in Lebanon.
Since Israel escalated its terrorist campaign against Lebanon on March 2, attacks have killed 4,346 people and wounded 12,301 others, while displacing more than one million Lebanese citizens, according to Lebanese authorities. 
Israeli forces currently maintain a heavy military presence inside Lebanese territory, including positions more than 10 kilometers from the border.
The Israeli military has continued demolishing infrastructure on a near-daily basis in villages where its forces remain deployed. 
On Wednesday, fires broke out in olive groves between Hadatha and Haris, while Israeli forces also set vegetation ablaze in the al-Wadi area of Ainata and on the slopes of Jabal al-Warda in Markaba.
Lebanese politician and former minister Mustafa Bayram, speaking at a ceremony commemorating resistance martyrs, warned against U.S.-Israeli conspiracies targeting the Lebanese resistance. 
“Today, everyone from Americans to Israelis and Takfiris have gathered in a war against the resistance and its popular base,” Bayram said, according to the Lebanese news outlet Al-Nashra.
“The enemies failed to defeat us militarily, so they have resorted to other tactics, but there is no room for weakness among us,” Bayram added, warning against efforts to transform the Lebanese army into what he called a “dirty police force.”
