TEHRAN — The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Monday declared its full readiness for strategic cooperation with the government to confront the enemy’s economic war and multilayered sanctions, saying closer coordination between the two is key to strengthening national resilience.
In a statement marking Government Week and commemorating the late Iranian leaders Muhammad Ali Rajai, Muhammad Javad Bahonar and Ebrahim Raisi, the IRGC said the country’s current circumstances require comprehensive government support for national defense and greater economic resilience.
“Support by the government for the fronts of national defense and strengthening social resilience is not a choice, but a vital and strategic necessity,” the statement said.
The IRGC described the economic war as the principal arena of confrontation with Iran’s adversaries, saying sanctions are designed to create despair, increase pressure on people’s livelihoods and undermine social confidence.
It called for coordinated action across the government’s economic, commercial, oil, industrial, agricultural, banking and diplomatic sectors to neutralize sanctions, manage markets, secure essential goods, control inflation and create employment.
“Undoubtedly, under the complex and critical circumstances of today, every step toward resolving livelihood challenges and securing a dignified life and reasonable welfare for the honorable people of Iran is as valuable and decisive as a battlefield victory,” the statement said.
The IRGC said intelligent planning and comprehensive government support for strengthening Iran’s deterrence capabilities and national resilience will provide a “strong and invincible shield” against economic warfare, sanctions and maximum pressure.
The statement also pointed to four decades of cooperation between the IRGC and successive governments in poverty alleviation, reconstruction and infrastructure development as a successful model that could help the country overcome multilayered sanctions.
It called for expanding such cooperation
 under current conditions and said greater coordination between the government and the IRGC will help render the enemy’s sanctions ineffective and strengthen national resilience.
The IRGC said it is prepared to cooperate with the government across areas including economic security, logistical support, infrastructure construction, poverty alleviation, combating smuggling and corruption, and assisting with the management of economic and social crises.
“The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, with a deep understanding of the critical and wartime conditions facing the country, declares its full readiness for any cooperation, participation and synergy with the honorable government in all required areas,” the statement said.
The statement also reaffirmed the IRGC’s support for the executive branch and called for continued efforts to serve the Iranian people under the guidance of the country’s leadership.
The declaration comes as Iran continues to face a new bout of economic terrorism by the U.S., with the government seeking to strengthen domestic production, economic resilience and mechanisms for mitigating the impact of external restrictions.
