BEIRUT -- Mahmoud Qammati, deputy head of Hezbollah’s Political Council, says Yemen’s Ansarullah is prepared to close the Bab el-Mandab Strait if comprehensive pressure is imposed on the Lebanese resistance and people, placing its “key” in the hands of the resistance.

He said the resistance has chosen to exercise patience and give the ongoing political process an opportunity to achieve the full liberation of Lebanese territory and the withdrawal of occupying forces.
Qammati warned that any Israeli attempt to advance or occupy new areas or positions would face a response from the resistance proportionate to developments on the ground.
“The resistance remains strong and capable,” he said, stressing that refraining from responding to every act of aggression “does not mean weakness or inability.”
