‘The Death Bath’ Leads as Iranian Cinema Attendance Jumps 30%

TEHRAN -- Iranian cinemas 
recorded a 30 percent increase in attendance during the final week of Mordad, drawing 327,731 moviegoers and generating 43.803 billion tomans ($231,762) in ticket sales from Saturday, August 15, through Friday, August 21.
Kazem Daneshi’s The Death Bath led the weekly box office with 132,538 admissions, an 18 percent increase from the previous week. Soroush Sehhat’s The Pool ranked second with 118,946 admissions after its audience grew 28 percent.
Adventure on James Bond Island, directed by Bahman Goodarzi, ranked third with 23,284 admissions, recording a 38 percent increase from the previous week.
Ebrahim Amini’s The Roof ranked fourth with 10,830 admissions, while Amir-Abbas Rabiei’s Personal Clothes placed fifth with 9,423.
Among cinema complexes, Kourosh Cinema Complex led the weekly rankings with 18,200 admissions, up 18 percent from the previous week. Iran Mall Cinema Complex followed with 14,290 admissions, an 8 percent increase.
Hadish Cinema Complex ranked third with 8,911 admissions, up 11 percent, followed by Azadi Cinema Complex with 8,381 admissions and a 40 percent increase. Ecomall Karaj Cinema Complex ranked fifth with 7,328 admissions, up 12 percent.
