Tehran Art Month Brings More Than 100 Art Venues Together
TEHRAN -- Tehran Art Month brings together more than 100 galleries, museums and cultural spaces across the capital, presenting exhibitions and arts programs from August 21 to September 11.
It opened Friday at the Iran Artists Forum, with the participation of cultural and arts officials, artists, gallery owners and other figures from Tehran’s visual-arts community.
Aydin Mahdizadeh, director general of Visual Arts at Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, attended the opening alongside members of the Tehran Gallery Owners Association and other visual-arts professionals.
The event aims to strengthen connections among artists, galleries, museums, cultural institutions and audiences while highlighting the diverse range of visual-art activity across Tehran.
More than 100 locations across the capital are participating, hosting exhibitions, artistic programs and other events throughout the month. Galleries and other active visual-arts spaces are taking part alongside museums and cultural institutions.
Tehran Art Month also seeks to encourage greater cooperation among artists, gallery owners and cultural organizations, creating broader engagement between Tehran’s artistic community and its audiences.
The citywide event provides audiences with an opportunity to follow exhibitions and programs at different galleries, museums and cultural spaces during the same period, offering a broader view of contemporary art activity across the capital.
Tehran Art Month is being held with the participation of institutions and organizations active in the arts sector and will continue through September 11.
