Military Chief Warns Persian Gulf States Against Aiding U.S. Terrorism

TEHRAN -- Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Ali Abdollahi on Wednesday warned the southern Persian Gulf states against providing assistance to or facilitating the use of their territories by the U.S. military amid heightened regional tensions.
In a post on X, Abdollahi said countries on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf that have publicly declared they would not allow Washington to use their territory against Iran should understand that “nothing escapes our notice.”
He said the presence of a large number of U.S. military aircraft, particularly aerial refueling tankers, at bases across the region is unlikely without the knowledge of the host countries.
“We warn that any assistance or facilitation provided to the aggressive US military will be considered as participation alongside U.S. military forces,” Abdollahi said.
The warning comes against the backdrop of continued tensions over the U.S. military presence in West Asia and American and Israeli aggression against Iran.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned regional countries against allowing their territory, airspace or military facilities to be used for operations against the Islamic Republic, stressing that such assistance would carry consequences.
The United States has maintained military bases and facilities across several Persian Gulf states, which Washington has used as part of its regional military terrorism.
Iran has responded to attacks by targeting U.S. military bases and interests in regional countries, as well as Israeli targets in the occupied territories.
Abdollahi’s remarks also come as Iranian military officials continue to emphasize the costs of the U.S. military presence in the region.
Earlier, the commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the Americans and their allies have come to realize that coffins have become an integral part of their military equipment in the region.
Iranian military officials have repeatedly said that the presence of U.S. forces and their proxies only increases the costs of military confrontation for the aggressors.
They have also emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces have inflicted heavy losses on the aggressors despite their advanced weaponry and hybrid warfare capabilities.
