Official: Iran Is Not Seeking War, But Will Not Retreat From Defending Its Security

TEHRAN - Muhammad Mokhber, senior adviser to the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, declared that Iran remains open to logic and dialogue, but stressed that Tehran “does not confuse negotiation with surrender.”
Speaking on the 40th day following the burial of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Teudsday, Mokhber urged Washington to reassess its strategy. “The United States must understand Iran through its streets and public square, not through the reports of its think tanks,” Mokhber stated.
“If Washington believes pressure and sanctions can break the resolve of this nation, it must urgently reconsider its calculations.”
Addressing recent regional security tensions, American actions in the Persian Gulf, and Israeli military activities, Mokhber emphasized that Iran is not seeking war but will not retreat from defending its security, dignity, or allies.
He added that holding those responsible for acts of aggression accountable remains a national demand.
Mokhber concluded by highlighting the importance of national unity, internal cohesion, and economic productivity to counter external cognitive and non-military threats. “The horizon before Iran is not one of surrender or defeat, but one of dignity, power, independence, and victory,” he asserted.
